still…he is dylan so a stray shit here and there is overlooked.

Were you listening? Talented wordsmith for sure, but I don’t know anyone who would mistake him for a talented keyboard or guitar player. Part of his charm for his most ardent fans is his infamously horrible guitar work and the “one note harmonica” solos from the past twenty years.

And why would any Dylan fan go to see him sing his popular songs? The joy of going to a Dylan concert is getting to see how many of his most obscure he’ll dust off that particular night, hopefully a song you picked in the “Dylan Pool.”

This is useful information as many dylan fans travel around to see him perform in the ideal venues. His show quality often varies with the quality of the venue he is playing. (and the ‘Historic Shrine” would sound attractive – so it’s good to know which places don’t do him justice.

I’m skeptic of your assertion that he’s never been able to sing. To sing well and sound pretty are two different things. I’d recommend listening to “I believe in you” all the way through before deciding about his singing ability.
