Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) – This prequel to Underworld and Underworld: Evolution has more action-packed goodness, but is set in medieval history instead of contemporary times. A few scenes could have used some work, such as Sonya’s execution, but overall… Hooray for more vampire and lycanthrope action!

Baby Mama (2008) – This movie would have been better if the surrogate mother hadn’t been so fantastically immature, which unfortunately, was the premise of the movie. The plot was good, but the acting left a bit to be desired in the audience-to-movie sympathy department.

Ratatouille (2007) – Pixar did fantastic with this film about a rat who wanted to be a chef. The graphics are top-level, the plot is put together and carried out very well for an animation, and the end of the movie is satisfying without being too cliché.
