Smoking is a vile, disgusting habit with no real positive benefits. That said, we recognize each individual’s right to destroy their own body if they so wish. However, develop lung cancer on your own time and on your own property! Stop polluting campus for the rest of us! Recently, talk of a smoking ban at [...]

by Victoria Branch I realized something last weekend. We as college-aged Americans are no longer specific or personal enough when it comes to introductions. We don’t know who the people we’re being introduced to really are. For example, while at a party a few Saturdays ago, I noticed a young sir introduce a girl he [...]

by Adam Hammons For most sports lovers across the nation, Missouri State isn’t exactly well known. Besides a couple great showings in the dance in both men’s and women’s basketball, we haven’t really proven ourselves to be a top quality sports school. MSU alum and Phillies first basemen Ryan Howard, though, may help change that [...]

by Adam Hammons Budget cuts coupled with scheduling conflicts caused MSU’s intramural co-ed flag-football champions to punt on the opportunity to compete for the regional title. MSU student Justin Drane’s team won the intramural championship at MSU and normally would have competed at the regional tournament at Oklahoma State University. In years past, MSU paid [...]

I just want to cry when I think about how in 20 or 30 years, most textbooks will be available only online.

by Zachary Singer “The World Trade Center and the Pentagon have been bombed.” Those words remain ingrained in my mind, even eight years later. The man who told me this was the principal of my middle school in Mamaroneck, New York. I was only in fifth grade at the time. Instant confusion followed. Now, it [...]

I’ve campaigned against the horrifying use of child soldiers in parts of Africa. I wrote my eight page term paper in ANT100 about it. I watched the videos, read the books, and saw the pictures, but truly nothing compared to actually witnessing it. There is no way I could have been prepared for what I saw.

By Joel Hahs Refuse to wash them? Then stick em in your pocket. Keep your filthy hands away from my school! I have noticed many Missouri State students feel it unnecessary to wash their hands after using the restroom. This is also a problem to those who are around individuals that do not wash. I [...]
