Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) - This prequel to Underworld and Underworld: Evolution has more action-packed goodness, but is set in medieval history instead of contemporary times. A few scenes could have used some work, such as Sonya’s execution, but overall… Hooray for more vampire and lycanthrope action!

Baby Mama (2008) - This movie would have been better if the surrogate mother hadn’t been so fantastically immature, which unfortunately, was the premise of the movie. The plot was good, but the acting left a bit to be desired in the audience-to-movie sympathy department.

Ratatouille (2007) - Pixar did fantastic with this film about a rat who wanted to be a chef. The graphics are top-level, the plot is put together and carried out very well for an animation, and the end of the movie is satisfying without being too cliché.

Why these movies rule (or don’t rule)

Click (2006) - This Adam Sandler flick didn’t leave much to be desired—there was the usual brand of comedy. Some pretty teary drama consumes the movie for a while near the end, but it only made the movie more worth watching.

Ladykillers (2004) - This awesome comeback for Tom Hanks really catches my attention with its offbeat macabre style. In it, there is a bank heist that pulls off beautifully… but ends in tragedy. This is a comedy to be certain, but has a nice twist.

If These Walls Could Talk (1996) - THE worst movie I have ever had the displeasure to see. If you want something as brainless as Passion of the Christ because the film does one thing only, beating its theme into the ground, then this would be your pick. Quite graphic, concerns abortion.

Jumper (2008)

Adventure movie about a guy who can teleport. I found this movie intriguing because it was edgy and brought back that old feeling that there might be a good Hollywood remaining, after all. This movie is pretty satisfying to watch.

Labyrinth (1986)

Fantasy movie starring David Bowie and David Bowie’s package. A girl seeks her baby brother in a magical kingdom of goblins after selfishly wishing him away. Delivering classic fantasy content as only the 80s could.

Death Becomes Her (1992)

In life after their deaths, this dark comedy involves two narcissistic women at odds finding common ground regarding a mutual love interest and how to beat the decay of youth. Very entertaining for those who enjoy good irony.

High School Musical 3 (2008)

I have not actually seen this movie but I am pretty sure that it may be one of the worst musicals of all time.
